Located in Southern California, Carlsbad is a small city sprawled over a rolling, lush ocean side landscape just thirty-five miles North of San Diego. The history of the city dates back to the late 1880’s when a man named John Frazier dug several wells in the area in order to sell mineral water at the local train station. Soon after Frazier’s initial success, additional wells were dug and the mineral water, along with the town itself, was marketed heavily and the area began to grow.
Today, this is one of the most affluent areas in the entire country, owing to the excellent Southern California climate, the rich property values and the stunning scenery. Along with plentiful residential areas, several businesses take advantage of the location by making this city home to their corporate offices. Tourism also contributes to the local economy, in the form of natural attractions such as the Carlsbad Lagoon and Buena Vista Lagoons, and various local beaches and parks.
The Skatepark located their, built in 1976 and is unofficially called the first skatepark ever built, and Legoland, CA, a theme park with many unique rides and miniature scale Lego block replicas of several major cities also draw many visitors to the city.
