Scott Purdy, CIC – President

Scott Purdy started in the insurance industry in 1978, as a life insurance agent with National Life of Vermont. Scott joined Hatter, Williams & Purdy Insurance in 1983, and has spent the balance of his career in the agency/brokerage business. In 1999, Scott assumed the principal position of HWP, and became President of the agency.
Scott graduated from La Sierra College in 1974, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. He has earned and currently holds the distinguished designation of Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC). Scott has previously served on several insurance carrier producer councils, and presently is part of Capital Insurance Groups producer council.
Scott strongly believes in providing the highest level of customer service to his clients with a commitment to effective hands-on attention to detail. The philosophical approach that Scott takes is to form a partnership with his customers, to help provide the best coverage at the most economical price.
Scott is a native San Diegan, and has resided in North San Diego County for the past 38 years. Married to his wife, Terrie, for 35 years. Scott has two children and two grandchildren, along with two dogs. In his spare time, Scott enjoys playing golf with friends, rooting for the Chargers, and traveling.
Holly M. Bishop, CISR, CIC – Commercial Lines Sales

Holly has been with HWP since 1985. Upon graduating high school she became full time and obtained her insurance licenses in 1989. Since then, has worked in almost all areas of the agency. She became a partner in 1999.
Her main focus is with Business Insurance solutions. Including General and Professional Liability, Workers Compensation and Employee Benefits. She enjoys spending time with her customers to understand their needs, and loves solving problems in all areas of insurance.
Holly and her husband live in Oceanside with their two children, Tori and Lucky. She enjoys spending time with her family, watching her son play Basketball, meeting her friends for Spin classes, and volunteering with her church.
Jennifer Scott, CIC, CISR – Personal Lines Sales

Jennifer Scott joined HWP in 1991 as an after school job. After graduating from El Camino High in 1992, she decided to come to work for HWP full time as the file clerk. She has worked as receptionist, customer service representative, personal lines supervisor, and is now a personal lines sales agent. She obtained her Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR) designation in 1998 and obtained her Certified Insurance Councilors (CIC) designation in 2010.
A San Diego Native, Jennifer has lived in North County all her life. She married her high school sweetheart, Chris in 1993 and lives happily with their two Boxer dogs (that they treat like children). A lover of the outdoors, Jennifer never turns down an opportunity for camping, kayaking, fishing or a good game of softball.
Dustin Purdy – Personal/Commercial Lines Sales

Dustin Purdy, son of Scott Purdy, joined the HWP insurance team in February 2010. He transferred from the commercial construction industry where he gained over four years of experience in project management. An alumni of Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, he graduated in 2006 with a degree in Construction Management. He received his insurance license in February 2010 and is currently working toward his CISR designation. Dustin understands the importance of building trust with his clients and he prides himself in maintaining lasting relationships.
Dustin is a San Diego native that resides in Carmel Valley with his wife Brittany and English Bulldog Henry. His hobbies include triathlons, snowboarding, golf, rock climbing, and watching football. He is also a member of the NAIOP San Diego chapter.
Karen Estes, CIC – Personal/Commercial Lines Sales

Karen Estes is the newest member of the HWP Team. With over 25 years of insurance experience as a commercial and personal lines agent, Karen focuses on solving clients’ problems and providing attentive customer service. She particularly enjoys dealing with businesses and helping them resolve their insurance challenges. She has a vast experience insuring various types of businesses including golf courses, non-profits, home health care, financial institutions, manufacturers, ranches and farms, contractors as well as main street type of businesses.
Karen is a Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) and is a graduate of the University of California, Irvine with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. Additionally, she spent 5 weeks in Hartford at the Aetna Institute of Corporate Education. She is an active member, Past President and on the current Board of the Bonsall Rotary Club. She is also on the Board of Legacy Endowment in Fallbrook and on the Board of the Fallbrook Animal Sanctuary. Last, she is a member of the American Association of University Women, Fallbrook branch and is involved in the AVID mentoring program.
Karen resides in North County. She enjoys going to the movies, golfing, walking her dogs, traveling, spending time with friends and family and involvement in charity work.
Personal Lines Department
Jenny Bowman, CISR – Customer Service Rep/Supervisor

Jenny is a native to California and has been in the insurance business for more than ten years. Jenny began her career working for an independent commercial insurance office in Bishop, CA and shifted her focus to Personal Lines when she moved to San Diego in 2001. She joined Hatter, Williams & Purdy in 2003 as a customer service rep and became the supervisor for the Personal Lines Department a few years later.
Jenny has extensive experience in the sales and service of personal insurance products. She is an excellent leader for her co-workers in the personal lines department and her focus is exceeding customer expectations with customer service and product knowledge.
Kymberlee Escalona – Customer Service Rep

Kym was born and raised in San Diego, CA and has been in the customer service industry for over 10 years. She started working for HWP in 2008 as a Receptionist and was promoted as a Personal Lines Customer Service Rep. She is working towards obtaining her Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR) designation. She has a heart for helping people and thoroughly enjoys what she does.
Kym was married in June 2012. She and her husband, Nick, love hiking, rock climbing, cooking and spending time with the family.
Brooke King – Customer Service Rep

Brooke has been in the insurance industry for eight years with all of her experience in Personal Lines. She thoroughly enjoys what she does and makes customer service her number one priority. She is currently working towards her CISR designation. Brooke is originally from Lemoore, CA; the Marine Corp has sent her, her husband, and their daughter to Camp Pendleton. She loves being in San Diego and enjoys cycling, running, and spending time with her family outdoors.
Commercial Lines Department
Nickie Einertson, CISR – Customer Service Rep/Supervisor

Nickie started with HWP in 1990 as a receptionist. She was promoted to Customer Service in the Personal Lines department, and in 1998 moved to the Commercial Lines Department. Nickie is focused on satisfying the needs of our clients and making sure their insurance needs are met with the highest quality of service and knowledge. She holds the Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR) designation since 1995.
Nickie and her husband of over 30 years were both raised in Carlsbad and now live in Oceanside. They have two grown children and a grandson. Her hobbies include riding quad runners in Ocotillo Wells, watching her son play baseball and playing with her grandson.
Dove Sholk, CISR – Customer Service Representative

Dove has been in the customer service industry since 2002. She started at HWP Insurance as the Receptionist in June 2009, received her Property and Casualty License in April 2010 and in Oct 2011 became a Commercial Customer Service Rep. She received her Certified Insurance Service Representative designation in 2012. She strives to provide fast and friendly customer service to all of her clients.
Dove was born and raised in Encinitas and lives in Oceanside. She is currently training for a 5K run. She loves animals, hiking, traveling and spending time with her family and friends.
Sarah Field – Customer Service Rep

Sarah Field has been in the insurance industry for over 10 years. After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies from Cal State San Marcos in 2003, she began working at Hatter, Williams and Purdy Insurance as a personal lines customer service representative. More recently, Sarah has moved to the commercial lines department and is enjoying her new responsibilities. Prior to working at Hatter, Williams and Purdy she was employed by Farmers Insurance as a personal lines insurance representative. Sarah prides herself in providing stellar customer service to each client and assuring that they are well taken care of.
Sarah and her husband Brent were both born and raised in San Diego and have a great appreciation for life as well as valuing their family and friends.
Office Staff
Barbara Birch – Office Manager/Accounting

Barbara started her career in the Insurance Industry in 1977 and has been with Hatter Williams & Purdy since 1988. Currently she is the Office Manger/Accounting Supervisor for HWP. Her insurance career began in 1977 as a Claims Examiner for Idaho Farm Bureau. In 1985 she moved to Ogden Utah where she worked for a small independent insurance agency as a CSR. Then in 1987 she moved to Oceanside and began her career with HWP. She started out in customer service for the personal lines department. Shortly after she assumed the role of assistant bookkeeper and in 1993 was promoted to the job that she holds now.
She is married to Bob Birch, the IT consultant for the agency and they have 3 children and 6 grandchildren.
Megan Joseph – Personal/Commercial Lines Assistant

Megan is from Modesto, CA. She graduated from Trinity Christian College in Palos Heights, Illinois with a Bachelor’s degree in Church and Ministry Leadership. She started working for HWP in November 2010 as the Receptionist. A year later she was promoted to the personal and commercial lines assistant where she helps with the day to day functions of the office. She now holds her Property Casualty License and is continuing to learn more about insurance.
Megan was married in November of 2011. She and her husband, Vince, live in Oceanside where they enjoy being outdoors, going on weekend road trips, and just making the most of every day they are given.
Chelsea Grell – Receptionist

Chelsea was welcomed to the HWP team in October of 2011. She was born and raised in Southern California, and now at twenty-four, has been an avid component of the customer service industry for almost ten years now. Through her time in this field and acquired experience, she has also gained a sense of purpose; and has dedicated herself to helping people in any way possible, and with a positive disposition. Her personal mantra is to smile in the face of obstacles. Chelsea’s free time is best spent in the great outdoors of beautiful, sunny San Diego.

Sara Stamper, CISR – Office Manager/Personal Lines Sales

Sara Stamper began her career in the insurance business as a personal lines representative in 1989. She has been a dedicated member of the Hatter, Williams and Purdy staff since 1993. In 2002, when HWP took the initiative to expand the business and open a second office location, Sara transferred to the new Temecula office to support and assist with the growth of our company. Sara is a Sales Agent and Temecula Office Manager. Additionally, she is a qualified CISR (Certified Insurance Service Representative.) In her role, Sara upholds and welcomes the valued business of new customers and works diligently to the best interest of our patron. In addition to more than 20 years of experience and knowledge in our business field, Sara also integrates fluent bilingual abilities.
Sara currently resides in North County where she was also born and raised. She is a loyal friend, compassionate daughter and loving wife. For leisure and relaxation, Sara enjoys biking, camping and spending time at the beach.

Rosa Banuelos – Customer Service Rep

Rosa Banuelos has been proudly serving the insurance industry since 1990. She joined the Hatter, Williams and Purdy team in January, 2002.
Rosa works out of the Temecula office, and specializes in personal lines insurance. Being a Fire and Casualty licensee, she serves as a Customer Service Representative/Sales Agent and strives to exceed our customers’ expectations on a daily basis. In addition, her bilingual abilities have enabled her to create and maintain trustworthy relationships with our Spanish speaking customers, as well.
Rosa resides in the Temecula area and she enjoys camping, vacationing and spending the most time possible with her family. She is a mother of five and has been happily married for twenty two years.
Gilda Saul-Alvarez – Customer Service Rep/Receptionist

Gilda Saul-Alvarez is a Customer Service Representative in our Temecula office. She began her journey in the insurance industry as our part time receptionist and personal lines assistant in January, 2004. Along with her bilingual proficiency and superior learning abilities Gilda soon became a licensed Property and Casualty insurance agent in 2006. Prior to Hatter, Williams and Purdy, Gilda lived in Tijuana, Mexico and worked as an elementary English teacher. She has contentedly resided in the city of Murrieta since August, 2002. Gilda has been blissfully married for twenty five years and is a devoted mother to her 3 daughters. Additionally, she recently welcomed her first and only grandson. Gilda enjoys reading, listening to music, dancing and cherishing moments with her family.
