Candles. Never leave them unattended, and keep them away from flammable objects (including the Christmas tree).
Christmas trees. Keep it watered, and be extremely cautious as it begins to dry. Tree fires account for many Holiday disasters.
Christmas lights. Never use old, outdated lights. Always check the light strand to make sure it is in good working order, with no frays.
Christmas parties. If you host a party, please know that you could be held accountable if a guest drinks too much holiday cheer and endangers themselves or others. Arrange for alternate transportation for guests who have celebrated too much.
Gifts. While shopping, never leave gifts unattended and visible in your car. Thieves love to break into unattended vehicles and steal gifts. Also, check your doorway for gifts that are being delivered – as they are a frequent target for thieves when they are sitting on your doorstep.
