Summertime is here, which includes redesigning your backyard for summertime BBQ’s or taking adventurous vacations. In doing so, you may rent a flatbed truck for your remodeling needs or a motorhome to take on your road trip. It is recommended you confirm the type of coverage required in these instances. Home Depot and Lowes offer trucks for you to use to make your delivery of the merchandise you purchased easier. Coverage on your private passenger auto policy will exclude some of these vehicles.
Here are some examples of coverage not extending to these types of vehicles:
*Vehicles with more than 4 wheels such as a dually pickup truck
*Weight capacity cannot extend 1 ton or 2,000lbs.
*Larger utility vehicles not considered private passenger
*Age restriction applies. Must be at least 21 years old
Here are some examples of coverage not extending to rented motorhomes:
*Private passenger auto policies do not extend coverage to rental of motorhomes or RV
*Your personal property may be not covered when renting a motorhome
*Check the restrictions and exclusions on the rental agreement for any excluded coverages.
