With summer rapidly approaching, vacation time is on the horizon! To be sure you return to the home as you left it:
Program the thermostat to be off, or in “Eco Mode”
Unplug or turn off electrical appliances
Make sure all windows and doors are locked and secured
Remove all garbage and perishables from the house
Turn off the water line to your washing machine
Ask a neighbor or friend to keep an eye on your house while you are gone
If you have a central station alarm, be sure the secondary person on your account is aware you are on vacation
Arrange with the USPS to put your mail on hold while you are gone, and if you subscribe to adaily paper, notify the publisher of the same hold request
Use a night light timer to give the appearance that someone is home
With a few simple precautions, you should come home to a house that is just as you left it!
